Technical details of two-part tensioning straps
- Band width : often 25mm tension belts , 35mm tension belts up to 50mm tension belts for even higher tensile forces.
- Lengths : 3.5 m, 4 m, 6 m, 8 m, 10 m, 12 m or even special sizes – always with precisely coordinated fixed and loose ends for all load sizes.
- Tensile force : Depending on the model, the permissible tensile force (LC, Lashing Capacity) ranges from 250 daN (250 kg) for lighter applications, to 500 daN (500 kg), 1000 daN (1 t), 2500 daN (2.5 t), and up to 5,000 daN (5 t) for premium heavy-duty straps. The force is usually doubled during strapping, as the load acts on both sides of the strap.
- Mechanics/Hooks : Depending on the application, there are two-part straps with pointed hooks, S-hooks, J-hooks, flat hooks, side wall clamps, E-hooks or airline end fittings – suitable for eyelets, rails or special anchoring options.
- Ratchet : Choose between standard ratchet (for everyday tasks) and long lever ratchet (for particularly high preload forces, e.g. STF 350 daN to 500 daN).
- Standards : All Sandax belts comply with DIN EN 12195-2, are often TÜV or GS certified and have a clear, permanent marking (label with LC, manufacturer, serial number).
Advantages in practical use
- Outstanding flexibility : Depending on the structure, loose strap ends can be inserted and secured from any side – ideal for vehicles with different lashing points.
- Easy to use : The load is quickly secured by throwing over the loose end, hooking the hook and inserting it into the ratchet.
- Low wear : If damaged, the loose end can usually be replaced individually without having to replace the entire belt.
- Universal use : Thanks to different hooks and strap lengths, it can be used for everything from small transport to heavy loads.
- Highest safety standards : resilient, durable, compliant with standards and usually certified with a test seal.
Application examples for two-part lashing straps
- Pallet, machine and lattice box securing in freight transport
- Fixing of barrels and building materials on site or in operation
- Safe transport of machines, control cabinets, equipment and bulky loads
- Container loading in port and rail transport
- Securing sensitive or valuable products in international or national shipping
Important information for safe use
- Always choose the right length and width for the load
- Visually inspect at least twice a year and before each use
- Label must be permanently legible and the belt must be free from cracks, cuts or deformation
- Always use the belt flat, without knots, overtightening or crushing
- Always use edge protectors for loads with sharp edges
- Never lengthen or temporarily repair two-piece straps by knotting them
