Have disposable lifting straps, disposable lifting loops & disposable slings customised

Disposable lifting slings are mostly used for loading and unloading cargo. A typical application is in the timber industry, for example. The disposable lifting stra ps are placed around entire tree trunks. The logs are then loaded onto the deck of a ship using these loops. During unloading, the crane hooks are reattached to the loops and the logs are lifted and the load unloaded.

There are also many similar applications in mechanical engineering, vehicle and aircraft construction, the steel industry, the prefabricated construction parts and building materials sector and other industries. We look forward to receiving your enquiry!

Disposable lifting slings Product selection

The following disposable slings have already been manufactured for customer projects. Please enquire about your desired product. In this area we only supply larger quantities per order. As the slings are produced individually, you must also allow for a delivery time of approx. 8 weeks.

Customised lifting slings - so everything can be safely lifted and transported from A to B. Carrying and lifting heavy loads cannot be done without aids. Accessories are also needed to secure loads or transported goods so that they can be moved safely and easily.

Lifting straps or lifting loops are made of very robust and tear-resistant materials that can reliably withstand weight loads of several tonnes. As an alternative to conventional products, disposable lifting slings or single-use lifting straps are available from specialist retailers.

When purchasing, users are faced with an extensive range of straps with different lengths, widths and load capacities. This wide selection requires professional advice: Which sling is the right choice? What are the differences between the individual products? What to look out for when using them?

The following information is intended as a guide and to provide useful facts about the products.

What are single-use lifting slings?

Lifting slings are used for transporting and loading (goods). This primarily involves loads with a high dead weight. However, the use of slings is not limited to heavy goods. They can generally be used as practical accessories for moving objects.

The main purpose of the sling is to lift the load professionally and safely. A sturdy lifting sling prevents the loaded items from slipping or falling. In this way, it also contributes to occupational safety (e.g. on construction sites or in the industrial sector).

What types of disposable lifting slings are there?

Belts, straps and loops - these three types fall under the category of 'textile lifting technology'. In everyday language in the construction industry, lifting straps and loops are often used as synonyms. However, a distinction must be made between loops and straps. The materials used are synthetic fibres (polyester). These

synthetic textiles are used to produce belts with high stability and tear resistance. Despite their resistance, they have a soft texture that does not damage the load.

  • Straps are available for purchase in different lengths, widths and colours
  • They can have reinforced loops at the ends or be manufactured as round slings. In most cases, disposable lifting slings are manufactured as round slings
  • The thread laying technique plays an important role in the production of slings. The individual threads of the fabric are woven together in a criss-cross pattern. This makes the material even more stable and durable

What is the advantage of disposable slings?

The name is self-explanatory: a disposable sling does not need to be used multiple times. It is only used once to secure loads and then disposed of. If the lifting straps are not returned to the shipper, this results in considerable cost savings.

Single-use is an additional contribution to safety: repeated use of straps or loops can damage the material in the long term. In addition to the frequency of use, the weight on the carrying devices also plays a role. Disposable straps made of polyester fibres have a high tear resistance. They can withstand temperature fluctuations without damage.

Note: Colour coding is required by law for reusable counterparts. The load-bearing capacity of single-use loops and slings does not have to be labelled in this way. The indication'DIN 60005' does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about the load capacity, but rather about the workmanship.

Buying slings - what should you bear in mind?

It is not advisable to buy slings on impulse. Instead, you should take a planned and cautious approach to purchasing the products and seek advice from our experts.

  • You can buy standard slings online. Disposable slings, on the other hand, always require a consultation in advance. Disposable lifting slings are also usually so customised in terms of length, properties and load-bearing capacity that the slings are also produced individually. In order to justify this customised production, these products are almost exclusively suitable for industrial bulk buyers
  • Quality and safety have top priority as 'basic values'. When buying, you should always choose certified products that comply with generally recognised safety standards. If you want to buy slings online, you can find out about the relevant safety standards in writing or by telephone or ask the supplier for information

Using slings - what needs to be considered?

The relevant instructions for use are aimed at workers in the industry:

  • Before use, the straps should be checked for damage. Porous belts can tear easily and must therefore be replaced to minimise the potential hazard
  • It makes sense to check the colours of reusable belts. Advance consultation and a customised offer are essential for disposable products
  • Opened loops may have a maximum angle of 20° . Otherwise the seams may give way under the heavy load
  • Multiple use of disposable slings with a low load-bearing capacity is a violation of workplace safety regulations. Such slings must be disposed of immediately after use
  • Used disposable slings or straps can be cut with a sharp knife to mark them as used lifting aids. Reusable slings can be cleaned of dirt under running water and used again as an aid at the next opportunity

Conclusion

In addition to the practical handling of the products, the protection of the consumer during manufacture is also a priority. Added to this is the generally applicable DIN 60005 regulation: it is an indicator of quality, transparency and safety.
